CANTON — Frazer Computing moved over the weekend to its renovated building on Route 11, leaving behind its rented space in the Masonic Temple that will not be empty for long.

The Computer Guys, which already rents space in the Masonic Temple on Route 68, will take over the downstairs.

"We're going to need it for the computer stuff," said Kyle R. Matott, one of the owners. "That's quickly growing."

SUNY Canton plans to refer all hardware computer issues to The Computer Guys, Potsdam, whose Canton branch opened a few months ago on the doorstep of the college.

"SUNY Canton has been very welcoming," Mr. Matott said. "We could be hiring a couple more people."

Growth at Frazer Computing, which supplies used-car dealers with software, also has led to job opportunities.

Owner Michael J. Frazer started with two employees in rented space on Court Street and now has 21.

"We hired four people this year. We're always growing," he said.

"Last month, we had more than 6,000 dealers using our software. That was a milestone. We have more than 150 car dealers a month buying it. That's all money coming in from outside the area."

Mr. Frazer said he expects to hire an additional employee this week and another one later in the year.

His company spent the first part of the year turning the former Amerigas Propane building at 6196 Route 11 into an administrative center.

Mr. Frazer originally had planned to put up a four-story office building next to the house on Route 11 where he operates his own small used-car business. He changed his mind when Amerigas agreed to sell its former home, which is next to the used-car business.

Although work on the building isn't complete, employees loaded up supplies after the office closed Friday and spent the weekend settling in.

A few issues remain, such as an inability to receive incoming calls.

"It would have been nice if the phones worked, but by tomorrow, we'll have forgotten about it," Mr. Frazer said Monday. "We're in, and we're just thrilled."
