Closer to Masonic Temple sale

Watertown's Masonic Hall Association may be a week or two away from deciding who buys the Masonic Temple, 242 Washington St.

The membership of the Masonic Hall Association and its constituent organizations, Watertown Commandery 11 and Watertown Masonic Lodge 49, will meet in the next week or 10 days, Realtor Lori J. Gervera said Tuesday.

The association held a bid opening July 23 on the potential sale with several qualified bidders. The neoclassical hall at 242 Washington St. first was put up for sale in November 2003 for $499,000. Most recently, the association dropped the asking price to $125,000 in May.
