GOP should stand up for President Obama

It's unfortunate when backward, ignorant people spew hatred about our duly elected president. They compare him to Hitler and try their best to dehumanize him. They insist he's a Muslim, not a Christian, and not a citizen of our country. With closed minds they believe this rubbish.

It's understandable the Democratic Party defends him, but what is bewildering is that no one from the party of Lincoln speaks out in his favor.

Perhaps it's Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck dominating their thoughts or they are afraid their own party will shun them.

Whatever happened to the good, true, gentlemen of the GOP? I remember them well.

I can't believe such a hateful, prejudiced split in Washington exists. It's all a blame game. I doubt, but am hopeful, this will backfire at election time. Truth is truth. Dirty politics should not prevail.
