From today's fundraising appeal by Doug Hoffman, a Republican candidate in the 23rd Congressional District, in reference to his primary opponent, Matthew A. Doheny.

"He supports pork barrel earmark spending. He supported Dede Scozzafava last year with thousands of dollars of support. As crazy as this may seem, he was even stopped twice in a span of two weeks for operating a boat while drunk and got so beligerent (sic) with law enforcement they had to physically restrain him with handcuffs.

And, oh by the way, when he was stopped by the coast guard, it was late at night and he was heading back to his private island while driving his boat drunk. He's a Wall Street lackey through and through who apparently does not think our laws apply to him. And he fully intends to continue the same irresponsible practices that have gotten our country into the mess it currently is in."

This doesn't even come remotely close to accurately stating the opinions of Mr. Doheny.
