LOWVILLE — Marilyn F. McArdle, 77, passed away at her home at Brookside Circle on Wednesday, September 01, 2010.
Born in Bristol, VT on March 29, 1933, the daughter of the late Howard J. and Helen Millar Finley, Marilyn graduated from Nazareth College in 1955 with a bachelor's degree in nursing.
On October 13, 1956, she was united in marriage to Edward J. McArdle in Weedsport, New York. After her husband retired from the United States Air Force, Marilyn and Edward moved to Ovid, New York where Marilyn started teaching at the Willard School of Nursing. Marilyn was an OB/GYN Instructor at the School for fifteen years. She retired as Director of Quality Assurance from the New York State Willard Psychiatric Center.
Edward J. McArdle passed away in 2009.
Marilyn was a communicant of St. Peter's Catholic Church and a former communicant of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Ovid. She enjoyed knitting, cross-stitching, crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be said on Saturday, September 4, 2010, at 10:00 AM at St. Peter's Catholic Church with Rev. Daniel Chapin officiating. Burial will be at a later date in the Ovid Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.

Surviving Mrs. McArdle are her children: Kevin M. and Susan McArdle of Lowville; Patrick E. and Lisa McArdle of Melbourne, FL; daughters: Kelly and Donald Breen of Theresa; Mary and Edward Collins of Lowville; Margaret "Maggie" McArdle of Hillsboro, NC and Kerry and Matthew Hamling of Northboro, MA; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Lucille Finley of Baton Rouge, LA; and her thirteen grandchildren: Michael McArdle, Amanda Keeney, Caitlin McArdle, Jennifer Breen, Timothy Breen, Seamus Collins, Katherine McArdle, Sean Hamling, Matthew McArdle, Ian Collins, Delaney McArdle, Adam Hamling and Maeve Hamling.
