TYLERVILLE — Thomas L. Gracey, 75, Co. Rt. 161, passed away Wednesday afternoon in the emergency room of the Samaritan Medical Center.

Mr. Gracey has owned and operated a dairy farm in Tylerville since 1965.

He was born in Watertown, March 2, 1935, a son of Levi and Effie Dishaw Gracey. He graduated from Black River High School in 1952. He served with the US Army from 1954 - 1956, serving in the Reserves for two years after his honorable discharge from active duty. Mr. Gracey worked on the family farm on the Pearl St. Rd. from a young age until going into business on his own on his present farm in Tylerville.

He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a former communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Copenhagen. He enjoyed bowling and fishing.

Mr. Gracey married Mary A. St. Joseph, April 27, 1957 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, Watertown.

Besides his wife Mary, he is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Barbara and Thomas Lawton, Adams Center; Lisa and Scot Anderson, Nichols, NY; Jennifer and Arthur J. Salisbury, Watertown. Three sons and their wives, Thomas and Jo Ellen, Grand Junction, CO; Jeffrey and Sherry, Watertown; Daniel and Renee, Broomfield, CO. Several grand children and great grandchildren. A brother and sister-in-law, William and Dorothy Gracey, Beaver Falls. Several nieces and nephews. Four brothers, Bobby, John (Jack), Donald and Gerald predeceased him.

The funeral mass will be Saturday 2 p.m. at Holy Family Church. Burial will follow in Sanford's Corner Cemetery, Calcium. There are no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the St. Jude's Children's Hospital or to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements are with the Reed & Benoit Funeral Home, Watertown.
