The organizers of the Michelle Salisbury Memorial Walk thank everyone who were part of the Aug. 21 event..
Michelle Salisbury passed away Oct. 5, 2009, in a traffic accident. She was 21 years old. Michelle had an amazing gift. She could make any child light up and at the same time they would light her up. Michelle would treat any child like he or she was her own, no matter who they were. It's a special bond that not everyone has; no doubt, she inherited the trait from her amazing mom.
All walk proceeds will benefit LIFEtown, a children's program through New Life Christian Church. LIFEtown will provide the nursery care for the church and also will be a full time daycare for the benefit of the community. The program will feature state-of-the-art security and will specialize in catering to the needs of single parents and military families.
The goal of LIFEtown is to synchronize with parents and their children with the purpose of helping to establish love and consistency in their lives.
A special thank you to: the village of Sackets Harbor, Sackets Harbor Fire Department, Sackets Harbor Police Department, residents and businesses of Sackets Harbor and our volunteers and walkers.
