LOWVILLE — The village's cost-sharing sidewalk improvement program will end for the year Friday.
After that date, the village Department of Public Works will address such seasonal duties as drainage work, sanitary sewer cleaning, meter reading and fall cleanup, according to a village release.
Under the program, started in 2008, village property owners replacing unsafe or poor sidewalks or installing blocks where no sidewalk exists are eligible for reimbursement of $2.50 per square foot, up to $1,000.
More than 40 property owners participated this summer, and the voluntary program will return in its current form next year, the release states.
