I am a Doug Hoffman supporter all the way. My man is conservative, a common man with common sense for the common people. He is a family man with backing from the common people like most of us in this county. He is a small-business owner in the 23rd Congressional District. Doug wants to stop the Washington madness and shove our country back toward the Constitution, lower taxes, smaller government and term limits. He is an accountant, he is truthful and he can add and subtract. Doug Hoffman understands the Wall Street financial tangle while not being connected to those institutions.

Unfortunately, our county committee endorsed a man, who last year contributed cash and supported the endorsed liberal Republican Dede Scozzafava, a Republican in name only, who during the last week of the special congressional campaign threw her Republican support to the Democrat Bill Owens. Scozzafava abandoned the Republican Committee that endorsed her. That maneuver parallels treason.

The Scozzafava-donor Matt Doheny worked 15 years on Wall Street, where he made his money. He is a lawyer and an investment banker. They say he saved businesses and jobs, but not here in this county, or any county within the 23rd District. He has a campaign war chest of cash, and most of his contributors are tied to investment banking. They are attorneys, bankers, political action committees, banker's wives, etc. The contributions come from New York City, Chicago, California, Texas and around the United States. They are people who can help him financially, and he can help them financially, if he gets in office.

Now just why would we want an investment banker/lawyer with ties to big money going to Washington to represent us?

We need a man who will stand for the people of his district and not for the party leaders. The reason the Republican county committees will not support Doug Hoffman is because he will not bend to the wishes and demands of the party. The party leaders expect total loyalty to them and not to the people. Doug Hoffman will be loyal to the people of his district.

We need a worker, a patriot, a mature American, a common man with common honest values. Come Sept. 14, go to the polls and vote for Doug Hoffman. Let us have a real representative.
