Storm knocks out power across the north country

A thunderstorm on Tuesday night knocked out power for nearly 1,000 households in the north country. As of 10:45 p.m., about 554 National Grid customers had lost power from Lisbon to Flackville.

The utility estimated that 137 customers lost power from Rensselaer Falls to Coopers Falls and 102 lost power in Alexandria Bay.

Near Orleans Four Corners, 80 customers lost power, while 10 lost power in Brownville, and a handful of customers each in Dexter, Lyme, Hammond, Russell and on Grindstone Island were affected.
