A man who earlier in the year had a driving while intoxicated charge reduced to a lesser offense is facing six charges, including DWI, after Watertown police say he led a patrol on a brief chase early Monday.

Thomas E. Dominessy, 29, of 21875 Admiral's Walk, Watertown, was arrested at 12:50 a.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Water Street on charges of felony aggravated unlicensed operation, misdemeanor DWI, leaving the scene of an accident, speeding, failure to comply with police orders and resisting arrest.

Police said he is accused of backing his pickup into the parked car of Sonia E. Moreno, 309 Mill St., about 12:30 a.m. in the parking lot at 743 Huntington St. Given a description of the hit-and-run vehicle, a patrol attempted to stop Mr. Dominessy's pickup on Pearl Street, police said.

He accelerated to 55 mph in a 30-mph zone, police alleged, but was halted on Water Street. He then scuffled with officers in an attempt to avoid being handcuffed, police said.

Police listed his breath test reading as 0.15 percent. Under state law, a BAC of 0.08 percent or more constitutes intoxication. His felony charge results from driving after his license was suspended for his conviction on a charge of driving while ability impaired by alcohol in town of LeRay Court, stemming from a DWI arrest Jan. 7.
