Golden Bears victorious

CANTON — Sam Brown and Murphy Newman scored second-half goals to help the Canton girls soccer team come back from a one-goal deficit to defeat Harrisville, 2-1, in a nonleague game between Northern Athletic Conference squads on Thursday.

Newman's game-winner came in the 76th minute for the Golden Bears (1-1).

Katie French scored for Harrisville (1-1).

Raquel Fowler led the Bulldogs (2-0-1, 2-0) with two goals in an East Division win over Madrid-Waddington in Chateaugay.

Courtney Boyea and Alexis Beach also scored for Chateaugay. Taylor Lenney and Shelby MacIntosh scored for the Yellow Jackets (1-1).

Eric Mehaffy and Andy Martin scored second-half goals to lead Lisbon past the Bulldogs (1-1) in a West Division game in Heuvelton.

Jimmy Robinson made two saves for the Golden Knights (3-0-1, 2-0).

Kody Sharlow scored twice to send the Yellow Jackets past Chateaugay (1-1) in an East Division game in Madrid.
