CARTHAGE — Thanksgiving Day, the Carthage Lions and Carthage Elks clubs will host the second annual Community Thanksgiving Feast at the Elks Lodge, 511 Fulton St.

Last year, volunteers served 234 meals to members of the community.

"We see a wide variety of people," said Elks trustee Adam J. Fuller. "Single soldiers, dependents of soldiers, firefighters, hospital workers."

Mr. Fuller said the idea of a free Thanksgiving meal came about in 2009, when members of his family were discussing holiday plans and decided they would rather volunteer.

Food will be served at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
