BEAVER FALLS — The Beaver River Central School District has been awarded a $500-a-year grant to help pay for anti-bullying measures.

The money, which will be doled out over three years, comes from the Creating Safe and Peaceful Schools Project, an effort created by Mara Sapon-Shevin, a professor at Syracuse University.

Grants, funded by a private donor, were awarded to eight school districts.

Christine LaBare, principal of the Beaver River Middle School, and Renee Moser, an eighth-grade social studies teacher and adviser to the student council, are in charge of creating a plan for how the money will be used.
