Third period notes:

Goal RPI Moss lost his stick on a scrum in the slot and CJ Lee scored.

Carey gets a penalty for boarding.

No relenting by SLU. RPI gets a penalty.

Second period impressions:

Another wild period, but St. Lawrence got two more goals. Carey netted his second of the game and 17th of the year, while Keller put home a rebound.

Saints look good tonigh. RPI, however, is looking a little sloppy. They seem to be trying to draw penalties rather than play the game. They haven't had a ton of zone time and have spent moer time chasing SLU around than playing hockey.

Second period notes:

Moss with some great saves to keep it 4-1.

Goal SLU: Keller from Jacob Drewiske.

Flanagan takes a penalty fighting for the puck to push it out of the zone. Fans are not happy tonight.

RPI seems to be a bit more deliberate in the second period to start.

First period impressions:

St. Lawrence dominated early on when it wasn't in the penalty box. There were too many penalties and I feel the Saints would be the first to tell you that. The refs are certainly calling this tight tonight. Robby Moss made seven saves in the first period, while York made 11.

St. Lawrence needs to stay out of the penalty box. That will deterimine the winner tonight.

Things are quite chippy here for it just being the first period. I have a feeling it will be very exciting in the second and third period.

Thoughts: The first thing that struck me about the St. Lawrence line is Greg Carey's position. He had been on the Flanagan/Bogosian line pretty much since the start of the season, but his production has been limited recently and perhaps Joe Marsh wants to mix things up. In his place is Sean Flanagan, so it once again becomes the "North Country Line." They started the season together, but Sean's lack of production after the first few weeks may have pushed him to a different line. Now, Carey's line consists of all freshman. We'll see if may move onto K. Flanagan's line for power plays. I have a hard time believing Marsh will break up Flanagan and Carey on the power play.

Mark Armstrong and Max Mobley are in the lineup tonight after missing the Clarkson game as healthy scratches. Marsh had said earlier in the season that Mobley had been one of his more consistent players. Armstrong has been a solid presence, but just hasn't scored as much as he'd like.
