This comment came in a bit too late to make it to print, but I figured in fairness, since I quoted Sen. Chuck Schumer, I should quote Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, as well.
Here's what Sen. Gillibrand had to say in regards to my story on the thought of requiring Canadians to get visas to cross the border:
“In the North Country, residents cross the border daily. While we have real security concerns on our Northern border that need to be addressed, we must do so in a way that continues to promote the tourism, travel and business relationships that are vital to our local economy. Requiring visas would hamper job creation and economic growth, without adequately protecting the border.”
