Feds

Rep. William L. Owens, D-Plattsburgh, joins a news conference to call for release of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve.

The House Agriculture Committee holds.a.hearing on impact of environmental regulations on agriculture. Rep. Owens is a member.

Massena

The North Country Redevelopment Task Force is meeting at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.

The task force will likely discuss upcoming prgoress at the GM site now that the remediation funds have been approved by a U.S. bankruptcy jusge in New York.

North Country Power Authority

The authority meets at 6 p.m. in the community room of the Potsdam village municipal building to discuss an attorney contract, bylaws, a mission statement, and a negotiating committee. It plans to go into executive session at 6:30 p.m. to discuss a contract with the Alliance for Municipal Power.

LeRay

The town council will discuss how to move forward with the Water District 4 project at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Town Hall, 8650 LeRay St., Evans Mills. The plans for it have been modified this past week to save piping and bring it under its $7.7 million budget.
