ADAMS — South Jefferson senior Samantha Snyder will sign a national letter of intent Friday to play Division II volleyball for Daemen College in Amherst.

The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. at South Jefferson high school.

“Sam has become a very complete volleyball player in her three years of varsity,” South Jefferson coach Warren Denny said. “She is a great team player with great attitude and work ethic.”

Snyder finished this past season with a school-record 261 kills as the Spartans (20-1 overall, 14-0 Frontier League) enjoyed their most successful campaign in school history. Their unbeaten season ended with a loss to Marcellus in the Section 3 Class B final.

Snyder also tallied 56 blocks, 47 digs and 17 assists overall. Within the Frontier League, she led the “B” Division with 171 kills and 43 blocks and finished league play with 26 aces. She was named a Section 3 Class B All-Star.

Snyder, who plans to major in athletic training, is the daughter of Pam and Russ Snyder of Adams.
