Clarkson schedules three to address grads May 7

POTSDAM — A Potsdam native will be one of three people to speak at Clarkson University's commencement May 7.

John A. Lancaster is the treasurer and a member of the board of trustees of Handicap International Federation. Mr. Lancaster has been executive director of the National Council on Independent Living and a policy adviser to the Vietnamese government and to the U.S. Agency for International Development to develop disability law, policy and programs in Vietnam.

The founder of Engineers Without Borders, Bernard Amadei, also will speak at commencement. There is a chapter of the organization at Clarkson.

T. Berry Brazelton, emeritus pediatrics professor at Harvard Medical School, is the third speaker.

All three men will receive honorary degrees at the ceremony.
