Here's what's going on around the north country today.

Watertown

The Watertown City Council will talk tonight about the problematic bookkeeping problems in the city’s Parks and Recreation Department. The 2011-12 budget will also be released, The council meeting starts at 7 p.m. and is held in the third-floor council chambers.

St. Lawrence County

The St. Lawrence County Legislature's Services and Operations committees will meet starting at 5:30 p.m. in the county courthouse. The agenda for the Services Committee includes a resolution approving the transfer of 22 acres around the county jail to the county Industrial Development Agency for development. The agenda for the Operations Committee includes discussion of a trail coordinator.

Deferiet

The village board will hold a special meeting to pass the budget 6 p.m. April 18 at the village office, 68, Riverside Drive.
