Here's what ELSE is going on in the north country today.

Massena

The Business Development Corporation for a Greater Massena will convene at 5:30 p.m. in town hall. The BDC's board of directors is expected to vote on whether or not to complete financial audits for the last six years. The BDC has not completed an audit, a requirement in its bylaws, since 2004.

Indian River schools

The Indian River Board of Education will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the district office for an executive session to discuss collective negotiations with the Civil Service Employees Association. When the board returns from behind closed doors, they will hear and discuss a personnel hiring plan report.

Lowville

The Town Council will hold a public hearing at 10 a.m. at the municipal office on Bostwick Street on a proposal to switch from three elected assessors to one appointed one.

Lewis County

The board at its 6 p.m. meeting will discuss several projects, including a proposal to install an off-grid wind tower at a residence off Corrigan Hill Road in the town of Martinsburg.

Clayton

The Clayton Planning Board will review the draft environmental impact statement for the proposed Horse Creek Wind Farm at 6 p.m. at the Paynter Senior Center, 914 Strawberry Lane. The board’s first public hearing on the document will be May 12.
