CANTON — The St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency's Civic Development Corp. agreed April 28 to issue up to $25 million in tax-exempt bonds for Clarkson University, Potsdam.

The bonds will be used to renovate Moore House and construct an addition on it, reconstruct 10 units of Woodstock Village, complete a lab next to the Camp-Rawley building and pay for equipment, machinery and improvement of utilities.

The Civic Development Corp. was created last year to allow the agency to issue tax-exempt civic facility bonds. The CDC's first project was for E.J. Noble Hospital in Gouverneur. It also has issued bonds for two projects at Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam.
