Griffo on Finance Committee

State Sen. Joe Griffo, who represents Lewis County and parts of St. Lawrence County, got a pretty nice promotion: He's going to serve on the Senate Finance Committee.

Might sound rather ho-hum, but it's perhaps the most prestigious committee out there. It deals with gubernatorial appointments, the budget... A lot of stuff passes through that committee.

Sen. John DeFrancisco, a Syracuse Republican, is the chairman of that committee, and is considered a Senate "big."
