Clarkson University ROTC commissions eight cadets

POTSDAM — The Army Reserve Officers' Training Corps Golden Knight Battalion at Clarkson University commissioned eight cadets into the Army at its annual spring commissioning ceremony May 6.

The ceremony featured comments by Clarkson President Anthony G. Collins and guest speaker Brig. Gen. Harry E. Miller Jr., senior commander at Fort Drum. Receiving their commissions were Clarkson seniors Charles W. Brewer of Cohocton, Mark P. Lucas of Penn Yan, Erin L. McTarnaghan of Geneseo, Jeffery T. Phillips of Fairport, Charles G. Rugg of Penfield, Colby C. Sortevik of Pembroke, N.H., Geoffrey B. Vantine of Moretown, Vt., and James L. Wheeler of Camden.
