Watertown
The Watertown City Council will discuss the scathing audit of the city's Parks and Recreation Department tonight at 6:30. Representatives from the local accounting firm Poulsen & Podvin CPA will explain the 22-page audit report they put together. Council members are also expected to vote on the 2011-12 budget.
Jefferson Community College
The Board of Trustees will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the board room. The agenda includes resolutions from the personnel committee on continuing staff appointments and promotions, and resolutions from the academic and educational services committee on five-year reviews for three academic programs.
Carthage Central School District
The Board of Education will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson-Lewis Board of Cooperative Educational Services administrative offices. The board will enter into executive session to discuss collective negotiations.
Washington, D.C.
Jane Wang of Potsdam competes in the Scripps National Spelling Bee. Semifinalists will be announced later in the day.
The House Rules Committee prepares a spending bill on military construction, including projects at Fort Drum, for floor consideration.
