Here's what's happening in and around and about the north country.

Indian River Central Schools:

The Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the district office. The agenda includes an internal auditor report on fixed assets, a report on cafeteria operations and discussion about this year’s summer school program.

State politics:

A news conference is being held today on "rational tuition," which would give SUNY schools tuition hikes over the next handful of years. We've put ink to this before.

In addition, lawmakers are headed into the final sprint, trying to put the finishing touches on an ethics bill and the property-tax cap.
