Former Rep. Anthony Weiner will receive a huge amount of money for being disgraceful. He disgraced his office, told lies and tried to cover up his story. But in the end, he did not lose. He gets to keep control of $4 million in campaign funds, and a pension of $35,000 a year (when he retires), Social Security and retirement for his six years in office in New York City. Not much punishment for doing wrong.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo should really look at this issue. He is trying to cut corners to save money for the state, and this would be a good start. When our representatives have done damage like this, they should not be rewarded and get to keep all their benefits. Last year a whole month was wasted by our representatives in Albany and again they never lost a thing. If we, as everyday workers did not perform our jobs correctly, do you think we would have gotten paid? We are paying for these benefits as taxpayers. I don't have a problem paying, if my money is put to good use. This does not classify as good use.
