POTSDAM — The George I. Alden Trust has given $150,000 to Clarkson University for the college's award-winning digital arts and sciences program.

The donation, which will fund improvements to facilities and the purchase of new equipment for the program, is a result of the Worcester, Mass., trust's mission to promote undergraduate education.

An interdisciplinary major composed of an equal number of visual arts and science classes, the five-year-old digital arts and sciences program provides students with background in such areas as graphic and Web design, computer science, mathematics and programming.
