Clarkson student takes second place at air-quality conference

POTSDAM — Clarkson University student Kyung Sul won second place at the 12th International Conference on Indoor Air Quality and Climate held in June in Austin, Texas, for a poster presentation.

Ms. Sul, an environmental engineering Ph.D. student from Seoul, South Korea, won the award for a presentation titled “Numerical and Experimental Investigation of Particle Resuspension Due to Human Walking.” Her presentation described an experiment in which a mechanical foot was used to simulate the movement of particles from the floor to the air after human contact.

Co-authors of the presentation were Clarkson graduate students Yilin Tian and Iman Goldasteh, Clarkson visiting scholar Behrang Sajadi and Clarkson professors Goodarz Ahmadi and Andrea Ferro.
