Reverse ferret: congressional edition!

From Nathan Brown's blog at the ADE: "(Rep. Bill) Owens told me that he is not considering not supporting President Barack Obama next year, but that we are at least 'six months away from that kind of endorsement activity.'"

That's a far cry from Mr. Owens' answer when I asked him, point blank, without any caveats or anything (other than probably to say something like, "Let me ask you point blank..."): Are you endorsing Mr. Obama?

He said: "I'm going to wait and see what everybody comes forward with," especially in relation to jobs plans.

And then the story got all POLITICOed and the RNC was pushing it and there were news releases about it and now he's not not endorsing Mr. Obama, he's just not endorsing him, not not in the future, not.
