Kidder’s OT goal fuels Carthage girls soccer

DEXTER — McKenzie Kidder scored the game-winning goal in the 97th minute off an assist from Kayla Gonzalez, giving the Carthage girls soccer team a 3-2 Frontier League crossover victory over host General Brown in overtime on Tuesday.

Gonzalez also assisted on Cassie Birth’s game-tying goal in the 59th minute for the Comets (6-1, 3-1). Jess Oliver added a goal for Carthage, which has won each of its three overtime games this season.

Stacy Bourn and Kayla O’Riley each scored a first-half goal for General Brown (0-5).

South jefferson 1, indian river 0

Lexie Smith scored in the 22nd minute, and Bailey Graves saved the only shot on goal to lead the Spartans to a crossover victory over the Indians in Adams.

Olivia Barker assisted on Smith’s goal for South Jefferson (3-3).

Lakeisha Barnes stopped eight shots for Indian River (2-3-1, 2-2).

Lowville 2, Watertown 0

Taylor Haenlin started the scoring in the 26th minute and ended it in the 67th, leading the Red Raiders to a crossover victory in Lowville.

Anna Platz had an assist and Chelsea Finn earned the shutout for Lowville (6-0).

Katie Aldrich made seven saves for the Cyclones (3-3).

IHC 4, APW 0

Kayla Miles provided two goals and an assist to help lead the Cavaliers to a crossover victory over the Rebels (0-5) at Parish.

Erin McClusky also contributed two goals and Taylor Brown had two assists for Immaculate Heart Central (4-2-1).

South Lewis 3, Belleville Henderson 2

Brooke Pominville scored the winning goal as the Falcons scored all three of their goals in the second half en route to a crossover win at Belleville.

Pominville also assisted on Gabrielle Domagala’s goal, while Jayne Strigle contributed one goal and one assist for South Lewis (4-1-1).

Whitney Maitland and Ashley Wood scored for the Panthers (1-3).

Copenhagen 5, Thousand Islands 1

Morgan Carroll scored a goal in both halves to help lead the Golden Knights to a crossover victory at Copenhagen, dealing the Vikings their first defeat.

Claire Stackel also provided Copenhagen (3-0-2) with a goal and three assists.

Chloe Mason scored for Thousand Islands (5-1).

Lyme 9, Beaver River 0

Audrey Schwind had a hat trick and two assists to lead the Indians to a crossover victory over the Beavers in Chaumont.

Mikayla Warren scored two goals and Taylor Brown added a goal and an assist for Lyme (4-2).

Beaver River dropped to 1-4.

sackets harbor 2, alexandria 0

Rainy Johannessen and Jordan Gonseth scored for the Patriots in their crossover victory over the Purple Ghosts in Alexandria Bay.

Hollie L’Huillier and Olivia Kolb provided assists for Sackets Harbor (2-4).

Alexandria fell to 1-4-1.

Olivia Ivison scored a pair goals to lift the visiting Comets to a crossover victory over the Red Knights at LaFargeville.

Hannah Horth added a goal for Sandy Creek (5-1), while Kylie Hanni supplied an assist and scored on a penalty kick.
