Clarkson opened the 2011-12 season with a 4-2 win over the University of Ottawa before 1,369 fans in an exhibition game at Cheel Arena Sunday.
The Golden Knights fell behind 1-0 after one period, then took a 2-1 lead with goals from Mike Garlasco and Joe Zarbo just 32 seconds apart in the second period. Ottawa scored 61 seconds after Zarbo's goal to tie the game 2-2 heading into the third.
Clarkson took the lead for good with a power-play goal from Alex Boak at 3 minutes, 6 seconds of the third period.

Matt Zarbo added another goal at 5:19 for Clarkson. Both Zarbo's finished with one goal and one assist. Nick Tremblay and James Howden also earned assists. Paul Karpowich played the entire game in goal and finished with 25 saves.

Wardrobe Malfunction
Clarkson came out for pregame warmups wearing its traditional white home jerseys. But the University of Ottawa also showed up in white, so Clarkson had to come back for the game wearing the road greens.
