Police say man violated conditions of probation

Lorenzo O. Cobb, 24, of 432 Flower Ave. E., was jailed Tuesday, a week after being sentenced to probation, after he violated a woman’s order of protection, according to Watertown police.

Mr. Cobb was arrested at 7 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of High Street, where police said he was seen walking with Rebecca A. Johnson, violating stay-away terms of her order of protection. He was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, and Watertown City Judge James C. Harberson set bail Tuesday at $2,500, sending him to the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building.

Mr. Cobb was sentenced Oct. 25 in City Court to three years’ probation following disposition of charges from four arrests this year, on March 11, Aug. 12 and 13 and Sept. 26, all in incidents involving Ms. Johnson. To satisfy those cases, he pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal contempt, third-degree assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
