A Watertown man admitted Monday in federal court that he robbed a KeyBank branch on Washington Street in June.

William C.H. Pitoniak, 38, formerly of 159 Mullin St., pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court, Utica, to bank robbery. He faces a federal prison term of four years at sentencing April 6, followed by three years of supervision upon his release. He will also be ordered to pay $15,773 to the bank.

He admitted that he robbed KeyBank at 1308 Washington St., on June 16. He did not display a weapon.

After receiving the cash, he fled the bank on foot, but was apprehended by city police on Ten Eyck street after a brief pursuit.
