Ogdensburg resident has fantastic idea for City Council

Macreena Doyle, an Ogdensburg resident who has been closely following the 819 Knox St. mess, forwards me a brilliant message that she sent to members of City Council and the city attorney, Andrew Silver.
Basically, City Council ordered an investigation into the rent-free fiasco but decided the people who elected them did not deserve to see the fruits of their labor/their dirty laundry. But then, ABOUT FACE! They decided it could be public. But first, they want to spend more of your taxpayer dollars, after already wasting it on Knox Street, to make sure it can be released. And instead of using Mr. Silver to decide whether they can do it, they're going to hire outside counsel.
Ms. Doyle has another idea:

Given that the City Attorney advises that you seek additional counsel on the question of releasing his recent report to you regarding the Knox Street property, may I suggest that you avail yourself of the free service specifically for this purpose at the office of the New York State Committee on Open Government:

The office provides advice and opinions to citizens and to the media, but it is also a resource for governments and as it is taxpayer-funded, there would be no additional cost to the City in seeking the legal opinion of the professionals there.

But the Committee on Open Government has already weighed in! So, what do you say, Bob Freeman?
"The city should not have to pay a second attorney to review this document. It should already be public."
All right, gents. No need to flush any more of our money down the toilet. Let's see the report.
