Clarkson prof named American Society of Mechanical Engineers fellow

POTSDAM — Clarkson University Professor of Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering Çetin Çetinkaya has been elected a fellow of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.

Mr. Çetinkaya’s research and teaching comes in the fields of vibration, elastic wave propagation, thermoelasticity, MEMS-based sensors, particle adhesion and removal and symbolic computing. His work has been supported by corporations such as Intel, Pfizer, Xerox and Praxair Surface Technologies/MRC, and his research program at Clarkson has received funding from the U.S. Army Research Office and the National Science Foundation.

The American Society of Mechanical Engineers, a nonprofit membership organization, has only 3,187 fellows out of its 119,209 members.
