Former Watertown gynecologist faces disciplinary action in Canada

Former Watertown gynecologist Dr. Joyce Buckley faces disciplinary action in Canada, three years after her New York state license was revoked for gross negligence.

According to the Ottawa Citizen, Dr. Buckley will appear before a professional discipline committee to share her alleged involvement in New York in writing prescriptions to patients without having met them.

The College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario’s concerns stem from the years 2005 to 2007, when Dr. Buckley worked in Watertown and approved prescriptions for people over the Internet. According to the Canadian newspaper, it is alleged that Dr. Buckley “misled the college in April 2008 when she renewed her medical license in this province.”

Dr. Buckley has operated an obstetrics and gynecology practice in Nepean for several years since she moved back there in 2008.
