State Sen. Patty Ritchie appeared on the Hotline, Mayor Jeff Graham's noontime radio show.
Mr. Graham writes that the interview was mostly "pleasantries and mutual admiration, which is true, and also some "taunts" about the tax hike that Mrs. Ritchie voted for, which is less true.
"I've got to ask you about this tax thing, because it's out there," Mr. Graham apologized.
Mrs. Ritchie stuck to her guns: It's not a tax increase, she said (even though it is). It's a tax cut for the middle class.
"What about our millionaire friends, Senator? Come on," Mr. Graham said.
After some back and forth, Mr. Graham said it was all in fun. "We're just kidding with you there," he said.
"You're doing a great job, incidentally," Mr. Graham told Mrs. Ritchie.
"I would say you're doing a great job as mayor, also," she told Mr. Graham.
