Lowville boy, 16, accused of sexually abusing child

LOWVILLE — A Lowville teen was jailed on charges that he had sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl on Dec. 7 at the Lewis County Fairgrounds.

Village police on Wednesday charged the boy, 16, with second-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child, police released Friday. He was arraigned in Village Court and sent to Lewis County jail on $10,000 bail.

The boy’s name was withheld due to his age.
