Matt Doheny, who announced his run for the north country congressional seat in September, has made another big life decision: He's getting married.
"Our favorite scarecrow finally got some brains and proposed to his long-time girlfriend at the stroke of midnight last night! (And Mary said 'yes,' of course!)," spokesman Jude Seymour wrote in a Facebook post accompanying a photo of Mr. Doheny as a scarecrow.
The couple have not yet set a date, but it'll happen this summer, in the sweltering heat of Mr. Doheny's battle with Democratic Rep. Bill Owens and/or a Republican primary opponent.
