Dixie E. Robinson

LAFARGEVILLE — Dixie E. Robinson, 72, of Berry Blvd., LaFargeville, NY, died December 31, 2011 at her home under the care of her family and Hospice.

Dixie was born on September 2, 1939 in Theresa, NY, the daughter of Clarence and Mable Charles Baker. She was educated in Alexandria Bay schools. Dixie married Melford Robinson on October 4, 1958 in Theresa, NY.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo.

Dixie is survived by her husband of 53 years, Melford; her sons: Joseph (Jessica) Robinson, Stone Mills, NY; David Robinson, LaFargeville, NY; and Isac (Kate)Robinson, Chesterfield, VA; her daughters: Laura (Dennis) Parow, Theresa, NY; Candy (Steven) Ackert, Toana, VA; Elaine (Steven) McConnell, Theresa, NY; Tina (Gary)Schall, Petersburg, VA; and Michelle Burrows, South Chesterfield, VA. She is also survived by a sister: Margaret Thomas, Oswegachie, NY; four brothers: Alvin Baker, Brownville, NY; Claude Baker, Alexandria Bay, NY; Foster Baker, Mexico, NY; and Edgar Baker, Theresa, NY; 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by eight children, who died as infants, and two brothers, Henry and Wilford Baker.

Calling hours will be held at Costello Funeral Home in Alexandria Bay from 1-3 pm on Wednesday, January 4th. The funeral service will follow calling hours at 3:00 pm at Costello Funeral Home, with Pastor Charles Constantino officiating.
