Police: Watertown man surprised three intruders
Shamar Bagby returned to his apartment at 229 W. Main St. about 9 p.m. Monday to discover three intruders rummaging through his refrigerator.
The trio fled, but Mr. Bagby knew his visitors, according to documents filed in City Court.
Robert L. Taplin, 20, and Brandon J. Barnett, 18, both of 522 Lansing St., were arrested by city police about an hour later on charges of second-degree burglary and fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Watertown City Judge Eugene R. Renzi set bail for each at $100, placing them in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building.
The third suspect is a 15-year-old boy who faces prosecution as a juvenile in Family Court.
Mr. Barnett is accused of possessing a digital camera owned by Mr. Bagby, and Mr. Taplin had prescription pills belonging to Tameka Bagby, according to police documents.
