Walmart clerk is facing charge of petit larceny

State police allege that a cashier at Walmart Supercenter, Route 11, used a $100 gift card that was purchased by a customer.

Cynthia M. Lewis, 35, of 26393 Lynn Circle, Calcium, was charged Wednesday with petit larceny and is summoned to appear in town of LeRay Court.

Police said she is accused of selling a $100 gift card that she did not activate, and using the customer’s money to activate a card for herself. She then used the card to purchase an iPod, police said.

The unidentified customer complained to the store after the purchased card proved to be worthless, police said.
