SANDY CREEK — George T. Graham, 26, of 22 White Birches Lane, was released without bail Tuesday after being charged in the investigation of an auto accident Friday that allegedly occurred while he was holding a woman against her will.

The Oswego County Sheriff’s Department charged him with second-degree strangulation, second-degree unlawful imprisonment, unauthorized use of a vehicle, leaving the scene of an accident and driving at a speed not reasonable or prudent.

He was arraigned in Sandy Creek Town Court.

According to the Sheriff’s Department, Mr. Graham threw the unidentified woman down on the ground during a domestic fight, placed a clothing item over her mouth, then forced her into a 1999 Jeep Cherokee. He drove while holding the woman’s hands to prevent her from escaping, deputies said, and eventually lost control of the vehicle at Route 3 and Carter Drive shortly before 1:40 a.m.

The Jeep went off the road and struck a guard wire, deputies said.
