Calzone-wielding Gouverneur man faces harassment charge after domestic dispute

GOUVERNEUR — A village man faces a harassment charge after allegedly striking a woman with a calzone during a Sunday morning domestic incident.

Richard L. Soper, 45, of 66 Hailesboro St., was arrested by village police at 4:37 a.m. and charged with second-degree harassment. According to police, Mr. Soper struck a woman in the left side of the face with his fist before throwing and hitting her with a calzone. Police did not release the woman’s identity.

He was arraigned in Gouverneur Town Court and released on his own recognizance.
