CANTON — After a year-long investigation, a Canton woman was charged by St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies Friday with third-degree grand larceny and first-degree falsifying records.

Angela L. McCormick, 35, of 145 Janes Road, is accused of stealing between $40,000 and $50,000 between January 2008 and September 2009 from Premier Paging and Wireless Inc. while employed there. Deputies said Ms. McCormick created PayPal online-payment accounts, double-paid herself and wrote company checks to herself. She also is accused of changing the accounting books to make it appear the money was going to actual vendors.

She was arraigned in Town Court and released to probation.
