Clarkson 4, St. Lawrence 3


Clarkson won its first game of the season after trailing at the end of two periods, using third-period goals from Nick Tremblay and Patrick Marsh to defeat rival St. Lawrence University 4-3 in an ECAC Hockey game at Cheel Arena Saturday night. The 3,899 who attended the contest marked the fourth largest crowd in Cheel Arena history.
Clarkson (11-10-5 overall, 5-4-3 ECAC Hockey) outshot the Saints 50-13, yet found themselves trailing 3-2 heading into the third period.
The Golden Knights got just their second power-play chance of the game when SLU's Gunnar Hughes was called for hooking at 5 minutes, 30 seconds of the third period and responded with this game-tying, power-play goal from Nick Tremblay at 6:12:

Clarkson scored the game-winning goal at 10:50 off a shot from freshman Patrick Marsh, with assists going to Ben Sexton and Tremblay.

Another freshman, James Howden, scored his first career goal earlier in the contest.

Clarkson coach Casey Jones talked about tonight's game as well as Clarkson rallying for a second straight dramatic win after Sunday's 5-4 overtime win over Yale.
