Watertown man gets probation for damaging bank’s ATM

A Watertown man was sentenced Tuesday in Jefferson County Court to five years’ probation for damaging a bank’s automated teller machine.

Jonathan L. Gilmore, 21, of 958 Gotham St., also was sentenced to an unspecified amount of time served at the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building and ordered to pay $8,711 in restitution for Nov. 22 guilty pleas to third-degree criminal mischief and third-degree attempted criminal trespass.

He was accused in August of entering the ATM building at the Watertown Savings Bank branch at 1816 State St. and damaging the machine with a rock.

In other court activity:

Cynthia A. Shearer, 34, of 24 Vincent St., Apt. 4, West Carthage, was sentenced to five years’ probation for Nov. 22 guilty pleas to third-degree assault and intimidating a witness. Further information was not available from the court.

Humberto M. Rodriguez, 37, Watertown, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary and is due to be sentenced Feb. 14. He was charged with using a key that did not belong to him to enter the Subway restaurant, 144 Eastern Blvd., on Sept. 24 and taking money from a safe.

Anthony Thompson Jr., 20, Watertown, pleaded guilty to third-degree attempted criminal sale of a controlled substance. Sentencing was set for Feb. 14. He was charged in an indictment, unsealed earlier this month, with trying to sell cocaine Oct. 21 in Watertown.

Leonard T. Dececchis, 51, Copenhagen, pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal contempt and is due to be sentenced Feb. 14. He was charged with violating an order of protection held by his wife, Joanne, by placing his hand on her chest and pinning her against a refrigerator during a June 15 domestic incident.

Sally J. Cobb, 34, of 813 Academy St., Apt. 6, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. Sentencing was set for March 27. She was charged with possessing a credit card belonging to her mother, Jane C. Coe, Lowville, on May 4.

Tina M. Lafrancois, age and address unavailable, pleaded guilty to fourth-degree criminal mischief and is due to be sentenced March 27. She was accused of intentionally causing more than $250 in damage to a 2000 Oldsmobile Alero belonging to Christopher R. Lafrancois on Feb. 14 in the town of LeRay.
