State police on Tuesday charged Alfred R. Heise, 45, of 16417 Lee Road, Dexter, with one count of first-degree rape, endangering the welfare of a child and resisting arrest.
Police said he is accused of forcibly raping a 14-year-old girl in Dexter in February and April 2011.
When police responded to his place of employment, Heise allegedly fled into a heavily wooded area north of Route 12 near the town of Pamelia, between Murrock Circle and Wayside Drive. With police establishing a perimeter with the Jefferson County Sheriffs Department and state Department of Environmental Conservation officers, Heise was taken into custody in the wooded area.
He was arraigned in Pamelia Town Court before being placed in the Metro-Jefferson Public Safety Building. Bail was set at $20,000 cash or $40,000 bond.
