ELLISBURG — State police arrested two people for allegedly possessing railroad property valued at $9.56.

Gregory F. Babcock, 29, and Kerrie L. Bates, 31, both of 1500 McDonald Hill Road, Mannsville, were each charged with one count of criminal possession of stolen property.

The pair were found with CSX Railroad property, a metal plate, which was removed from an area near the tracks located in the town.

The items were not removed from an active track, and the theft was not related to the November theft of 2300 anchors from CSX Railroad property in Ellisburg, which was valued at $3,864.

The two were given appearance tickets to the Town of Ellisburg Court pending further court action.
